About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Catering Assistant at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality food and exceptional customer service to our patients, staff, and visitors.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and presentation of meals, snacks, and refreshments for patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to strict health and safety standards.
  • Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure efficient food service operations and meet customer demands.
  • Participate in training and development programs to enhance your skills and knowledge in food preparation, handling, and presentation.
  • Support the team in achieving excellent customer service standards, responding to customer feedback, and resolving any issues promptly.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a healthcare or food service environment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Basic food preparation and handling skills, with a willingness to learn and develop your skills further.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays, as required.
  • Basic knowledge of health and safety procedures and a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
