Position Overview

The Engineering Operations Leader will be responsible for overseeing and executing engineering initiatives within the organization. This role demands a proactive individual who can work independently to develop, monitor, and implement project plans related to engineering activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Independently generate and report on project plans for engineering activities, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Metrics Leadership: Lead site and corporate performance metrics, focusing on collaborator management and ensuring that all actions are completed as scheduled.
  • Product Introduction: Provide expertise in automation engineering to guide new product introductions, defining necessary activities to fulfill the automation strategy.
  • Client Liaison: Act as a liaison with clients when necessary, collaborating closely with counterparts to synchronize processes across various manufacturing sites.
  • Mentorship: Share knowledge and mentor the engineering maintenance team in troubleshooting issues related to site-wide utilities, including purified water, pure steam, and calibrated equipment.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) in the work area, aligning with site Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Team Support: Provide mentorship and support to a small team of engineers, ensuring compliance with preventative maintenance schedules.
Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S)
  • Understand and follow emergency procedures and safe work systems.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations at all times.
  • Report and investigate all accidents, near misses, and rule breaches promptly.
  • Identify and implement energy-saving initiatives to reduce overall site energy consumption.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience in the pharmaceutical or related industries, preferably in fill/finish operations.
  • Strong background in project management, particularly in production engineering, validation, or quality, with an understanding of sterile manufacturing processes.
  • Proficient in project management tools such as Microsoft Project.
  • Experience in leading change and driving continuous improvements.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with a focus on team management.
  • Client-facing experience is preferred.
