Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled professional to join our Private Client Tax team in Tunbridge Wells, responsible for managing portfolios of individual clients with intricate tax situations, including high-net-worth individuals, private equity executives, entrepreneurs, and trusts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional client service by nurturing client relationships and proactively addressing advisory matters.
  • Oversee daily operations to meet client and compliance deadlines, ensuring timely monitoring of time limits and elections.
  • Collaborate with Partners and Directors on tax planning initiatives, including succession planning through trusts and corporate structures, as well as capital gains and inheritance tax considerations.
  • Manage inquiries and disclosures from HMRC, addressing both compliance and advisory correspondence.
  • Oversee billing processes and budget monitoring.
  • Review compliance and preliminary advisory work conducted by junior staff members.
  • Support the development of junior staff through mentorship in both technical and personal growth.
  • Conduct presentations at technical training sessions.
  • Participate in personal business development activities and support the team's business development efforts.
  • Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge.

Qualifications

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Extensive relevant experience within a professional services environment.
  • Strong understanding of private client tax matters, particularly regarding complex capital gains and inheritance tax issues.
  • Proven track record in delivering tax planning and advisory projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing intricate compliance challenges.
  • Experience in people management and organizational skills.

Professional Qualifications

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant and/or Chartered Tax Adviser.
