The MSi Solutions Architect role encompasses the innovative design of integrated solutions (Building Systems Integration / Smart Building Solutions) for large-scale commercial projects, utilizing various vendors and technology sets.
The selected candidate will oversee both current and emerging technologies from existing partners, as well as evaluate and introduce new technologies to enhance the Onnec portfolio.
This position entails full responsibility for the technical design and implementation of solutions, serving as the primary technical liaison with customers, vendors, project managers, and implementation engineers.
Key Responsibilities of the MSi Solutions Architect:
- Integrate systems using various protocols (BACnet, Modbus, Dali, OPC, etc.) and provide guidance to system owners.
- Conduct Cloud IoT configuration tasks (GCP, AWS, Azure, Mosquitto, etc.), including MQTT device configuration, JSON payload structuring, and topic organization.
- Develop Building Modelling (BRICK, Haystack & DBO as primary standards), defining characteristics and relationships among various devices/assets within a building.
- Implement Asset & Point naming standards, ensuring compliance among system owners.
- Validate data provided by system owners at the building network level and data published to cloud platforms.
- Facilitate translation from native system protocols to Cloud IoT protocols when other systems lack the necessary capabilities.
- Collaborate with our software department to address requirements for our in-house dashboard, utilized across multiple projects, including system page development and the creation of FDD rules and energy/efficiency calculations.
Qualifications for the MSi Solutions Architect:
- Experience in BMS Commissioning (multiple projects/5+ years).
- Experience in BMS Project/Design Engineering (multiple projects/5+ years).
- Strong understanding of HVAC & Building Controls.
- Familiarity with various controller types (preferably Tridium Niagara).
- Basic knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, and IP.
- Experience with MQTT/IoT Solutions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Building Modelling (BRICK, Haystack, DBO, etc.).
- Familiarity with GCP, AWS, or Azure Cloud Platforms.
- Understanding of other building systems (lighting, fire, lifts, etc.).
- BIM/CAD Experience.
- Knowledge of Fault Detection Diagnosis (FDD).
- Experience with additional network protocols (OPC, KNX, M-bus, etc.).
- Software engineering experience.
