Marine Ecologist Senior Specialist

AECOM is seeking a highly skilled Marine Ecologist Senior Specialist to join our team. As a senior member of our marine ecology team, you will provide technical marine ecological and marine consenting advice, internally and externally. You will manage inputs to a wide range of workstreams and deliverables across a broad range of projects, including involvement in the full EIA or DCO development cycle of major projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver marine ecology impact assessments, including ES chapters and associated assessments (HRA, MCZ and WFD)
  • Provide technical advice and application of advanced scientific practices, theories, and technologies for a diverse range of marine projects
  • Manage inputs to a wide range of workstreams and deliverables across a broad range of projects
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve the environmental outcomes of our projects
  • Support the development and training of more junior members of the team
Requirements:
  • A recognised degree in a relevant discipline such as marine biology/ecology or a related biological or science discipline
  • Comprehensive marine ecological expertise with demonstrable experience in the preparation and review of specialist technical chapters and all associated impact assessments
  • A detailed understanding of the marine consenting and licensing regimes across the UK
  • Excellent writing and communication skills, able to tailor complex scientific information for different audiences
