Job Title: Material Analyst

Egis is a leading global consulting, construction engineering and operating firm. Our UK team is proud to be delivering some of the most iconic projects which help connect people, protect our environment and meet emission reduction targets.

We're seeking a skilled Material Analyst to join our team, working on the M25 project, a critical infrastructure asset for personal and goods vehicles into and around our capital. The network includes around 800 structures and 5 tunnels, requiring high levels of performance, constant improvement and repairs to keep it operating smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement asset management maintenance and renewal strategies for all structure categories, including bridges and large culverts, small span structures, retaining walls, sign/signal gantries and masts.
  • Develop value-led, technical decision-making processes and procedures to support long-term asset management.
  • Utilize the Asset Management System, including RMMS and Decision Support Tools, to identify structural renewal and maintenance interventions.
  • Support the delivery and undertake as required bridge inspections.
  • Assist with structures condition reporting.
  • Scheme identification/option studies and other lifecycle advisory activities in relation to structures renewals.
  • Assist with the identification of efficient renewal scheme interventions.
  • Whole life cost analysis, including lifecycle planning, optimization and prioritization of renewal schemes in support of the development of the Annual Asset Management Plan, 5-year Rolling Asset Management Plan and 30-year Rolling Asset Management Plan.
  • Compliance with legislation and contract service schedules in relation to bridge structures.
  • Support the programme of work on Substandard Structures, including piers and parapets.
  • Liaison with the CPS on-roads team to ensure consistency in maintenance regimes.
  • Attendance at callouts for the management of emergency incidents involving specified assets.
  • Assist in collating information for effective performance measurement and controls.
Requirements:
  • Qualified to degree level or equivalent.
  • Working towards Professional Qualification, MICE, MIAM, MIStructE, or similar.
  • Knowledge and experience of highway bridge asset management and an understanding of bridge inspection and maintenance activities.
  • Awareness of RWSC, DMRB and SHW.
  • Understanding of Asset Management Systems.
  • Understanding of working within the Strategic Road Network, with National Highways.
  • Experience in Windows server operating systems.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel.
  • Current UK driving license.
