Job Title: Functional Skills Tutor

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Functional Skills Tutor to join our team at Dovetail and Slate Ltd. As a Functional Skills Tutor, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality education and training to adult learners in a prison setting.

About the Role:

This is a full-time position, working 37 hours per week. You will be responsible for delivering Functional Skills Maths and English up to Level 2, as well as identifying individual learner needs and creating personalized learning plans. You will also be required to review learner progression, prepare and deliver comprehensive lesson plans, and actively seek feedback from learners and other sources.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality Functional Skills Maths and English training to adult learners
  • Identify individual learner needs and create personalized learning plans
  • Review learner progression and make adjustments to training as needed
  • Prepare and deliver comprehensive lesson plans
  • Actively seek feedback from learners and other sources
Requirements:
  • Five GCSEs at Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent), including English Language and Mathematics
  • A Degree or professional qualification relevant to the role
  • Teaching Qualification
  • Knowledge and experience of current teaching and learning strategies
  • Excellent team working, communication, and interpersonal skills
