Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Engineer to take responsibility for the design and development of a package of components within the Automotive sector.

The successful candidate will ensure these parts are delivered within the constraints of time, cost, quality, and specification as agreed by the NMIP process.

This role involves direct delivery and management of Senior Design Engineers and/or Design Engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of motorcycle component packages, consulting with Specialists and Chief Engineers as needed.
  • Ensure timely, cost-effective, and quality delivery of components in line with the NMIP process and KPIs.
  • Plan and lead the delivery of component packages, managing Design/Senior Design Engineers as necessary.
  • Collaborate across the supply/value chain to enhance team effectiveness.
  • Support project planning to meet current and future deliverables.
  • Meet key KPIs related to Cost, Time, Quality, and Specification targets through direct action and leadership.
  • Follow established procedures to minimize project and product risk, while challenging these processes for departmental effectiveness.
  • Escalate concerns and issues through the appropriate channels.
  • Provide mentoring, coaching, and support to direct reports, including performance management.
  • Assist with projects and undertake additional duties as required by the Manager.

Requirements:

  • Project Management experience.
  • Highly technical approach with strong attention to detail.
  • Good technical judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Able to plan workload and release for package delivery.
  • Previous experience in an automotive/manufacturing environment.
  • Strong supporter of change and process within the team.

Working Hours:

Monday to Thursday 8am-5pm, Friday 8am – 1pm (flexible)
