Job Overview
The Northampton Business Directory is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our production facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Minimise production downtime by performing routine scheduled maintenance and responding to unplanned breakdowns in a timely and effective manner.
- Ensure production operations maximise output and minimise downtime safely through regular planned maintenance.
- Respond to unplanned breakdowns, working alongside engineering and production colleagues to minimise disruption.
- Be on call one week in four, with a paid allowance.
- Optimise equipment performance and lifecycle through regular preventative maintenance, working with the production team to identify and understand causes of equipment wear and tear.
- Diagnose and repair equipment breakdowns.
- Perform all work according to safe systems of work, risk assessments, SOPs, and company policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Deep understanding of fault finding and diagnostics on manufacturing machinery.
- Electrical and mechanical competencies.
- Relevant electrical or mechanical qualifications (City & Guilds/NVQs) are advantageous.
- Experience working in a fast-paced production environment for a minimum of two years is essential.
- Previous experience as a maintenance engineer, mechanical engineer, or electrical engineer is required.
