Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Laboratory Supervisor to oversee our laboratory operations specializing in concrete, soils, and materials. This role is pivotal in ensuring the efficient functioning of our testing facility.
Compensation:

- Located in Portsmouth with occasional travel requirements.

- Directly reports to the Head of Labs.

This position requires a candidate with a solid background in physical and mechanical testing, as well as experience in supervising laboratory personnel.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual eager to engage in a new project, with future prospects for advancement upon its completion.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee and coordinate daily laboratory operations within the testing division.
- Align business activities with strategic plans and financial objectives.
- Work towards achieving financial goals related to sales and profitability.
- Maintain compliance with Health and Safety, Quality, Technical, and Commercial standards in accordance with ISO 17025 and UKAS guidelines.
- Ensure effective management of invoicing, cash flow, and outstanding debts.
- Provide support and training to team members.
- Uphold high standards for testing rates and production quality.
- Demonstrated experience in the Concrete, Soils, and Aggregates sector is essential.
- Prior involvement in physical and mechanical testing is required.
- Experience managing financial aspects (P&L, etc.) and strategic business insights.
- Familiarity with Health and Safety regulations.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
- A collaborative team player.
- Proven leadership skills with the capacity to influence others.
- Willingness to travel as necessary and work additional hours when required.
