About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Geriatrician Consultant to join our team at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust. As a key member of our department, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our Frailty services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert clinical care to patients with complex geriatric needs, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care.
  • Develop and implement innovative Frailty services, working collaboratively with colleagues to drive service improvement and excellence.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of education and training programs for junior staff, medical students, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in departmental audit and teaching activities, providing bedside and formal teaching to junior doctors and other health professionals.
  • Supervise junior staff and contribute to the development of junior doctors, providing guidance and support to ensure their success in their roles.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications and experience:

  • MRCP or equivalent GMC registerable qualifications.
  • On the specialist register for Geriatric Medicine/GIM.
  • CCT in Geriatric Medicine & General internal medicine (GIM) or within six months of achieving CCT at the time of interview.
  • Computer skills, including ability to use ward processor spreadsheet program and web browser.
  • Good understanding of the NHS agenda and organisational awareness.
