About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Histopathologist to join our dynamic Cellular Pathology Service at North Bristol NHS Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality diagnostic services and contributing to the development of our pathology network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert histopathological services, including diagnostic reporting and consultation with clinical teams.
  • Develop and maintain subspecialty interests in Thoracic Pathology, contributing to the growth and development of our service.
  • Participate in teaching and supervision of junior medical staff and students, promoting excellence in pathology education.
  • Engage in audit and quality improvement initiatives, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and service delivery.
  • Collaborate with clinical teams and researchers to develop and implement innovative diagnostic and research projects.
Person Specification
  • Full and specialist registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and a licence to practise.
  • Holder of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or equivalent qualification.
  • Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists (FRCPath) or equivalent qualification.
  • Subspecialty interest in Thoracic Pathology and experience in cellular pathology service redesign processes.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence peers and engage with executive leads of Trust organisations.
