Brook Street Social Care is seeking dedicated and experienced Residential Childcare Specialists to support a growing organization providing residential care for children and young people.

As a Residential Childcare Specialist, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing and supportive environment where children can thrive. You will work closely with each child, helping them develop emotionally, socially, physically, and intellectually. Your responsibilities will encompass:

  • Supporting Education: Assisting children with their education, homework, and extracurricular activities.
  • Ensuring Well-being: Providing a safe and nurturing environment, promoting positive behavior, and addressing any emotional or behavioral challenges.
  • Daily Living Support: Assisting with daily tasks such as meal preparation, cleaning, personal hygiene, and attending appointments.
  • Building Relationships: Fostering strong relationships with children, parents, and other professionals involved in their care.

Essential Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must possess:

  • Proven experience working with children in an educational or residential setting, particularly those with challenging behaviors.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • A compassionate and patient approach to working with children.
  • A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for transporting children as needed (mileage reimbursement provided).
