About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Piping Engineer to join our team at oilandgas. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for designing and analyzing piping systems for various energy-related projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and analyze piping systems for complex energy projects, including nuclear power generation and renewable energy initiatives.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to capture requirements, set up projects, and deliver right-first-time solutions.
  • Work within small to medium-sized multidisciplinary teams, bringing a level of commercial awareness to effectively deliver tasks for multiple workstreams.
  • Develop and maintain technical reports, design substantiations, and basis of analysis documents.
  • Engage with existing and prospective clients, working at their sites, and investing time in understanding their issues, goals, and processes.
Requirements
  • Degree-qualified mechanical engineer (or other relevant qualification).
  • Experience in piping and pressure vessel design and stress analysis.
  • Experience in writing accurate, detailed, and concise technical reports.
  • Comfortable with engaging with clients and working in a collaborative environment.
Desirable Skills
  • Experience in working in a safety-critical and heavily regulated environment.
  • Chartered with a relevant professional institute (or approaching application for registration).
  • Experience in working with design codes such as ASME BPVC Section III, RCC-M, BS EN 13480, BS EN13445.
  • Experience in tool/assessment automation - preferably in Python.
  • Demonstrable experience of requirements capture and task specification.
  • Demonstrable experience in authoring bids.
  • Process design.
  • Site support and installation supervision.
  • PESR and PSSR compliance.
