Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Despatch Team Leader to join our team at Hovis Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Front Line Managers with managing, developing and leading the team to effectively deliver an operationally excellent Despatch in line with Hovis supply chain business requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise a team of shift-based operatives on shift, providing clear direction, motivation, and communication.
- Develop an efficient operation in line with the site plan and key business performance indicators.
- Ensure compliance with company and legal standards, including safety, hygiene, and environmental regulations.
- Lead and develop continuous improvement activities in the team's delivery of quality, value, safety, hygiene, environment, and customer service.
- Ensure total compliance with all standard procedures and systems.
- Demonstrate visible leadership for the team.
- Ability to cover for the Despatch Front Line Manager in their absence.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of site plans.
Requirements:
- Working knowledge of business systems, including SAP, PTL, and T&T.
- Ability to create strong and effective cross-functional relationships.
- Relevant industry experience.
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge and commitment to Health and Safety.
- Excellent leadership and people management and coaching skills.
- IT literate.
- Good numeracy and literacy.
- Good communication skills at all levels.
- Ability to work on own initiative.
- Be adaptable, flexible, and demonstrate a willingness to accept changes in operational requirements at short notice.
- MHE/FLT Trained.
