Design Technology Technician Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Design Technology Technician to join our team at a mainstream secondary school in Hounslow. As a key member of our Design Technology department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our workshops and classrooms.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist teachers in preparing materials and equipment for practical lessons, ensuring a safe and efficient learning environment.
  • Maintain and organise the DT workshop, adhering to health and safety protocols and maintaining a tidy and well-organised space.
  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working order.
  • Manage inventory, order supplies, and ensure all materials are available for lessons, promoting a culture of efficiency and organisation.
  • Support students during practical activities, providing guidance and supervision to ensure they follow safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Set up displays of students' work and projects, showcasing their creativity and achievements.
  • Assist in developing and implementing strategies to promote student engagement and motivation in Design Technology lessons.
