About the Role

Sprint Recruitment is seeking an experienced and skilled HGV Workshop Controller to join our client's team in Tunbridge Wells. As a key member of the workshop team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and profitable operation of the workshop, while maintaining high standards of quality and productivity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the day-to-day running of the workshop, including controlling labor efficiency and productivity.
  • Identify and address jobs that are exceeding allocated times, working with technicians and workshop supervisors to resolve issues.
  • Manage the handover of complex or contentious jobs, ensuring full buy-in and agreement from customers.
  • Monitor and manage the performance of the service department, ensuring KPI targets are met.
  • Ensure productive staff are aware of their workload and standard times.
Requirements
  • Technical qualifications equivalent to City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in HGV Vehicle Technology.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial capacity within the commercial vehicle industry.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Full knowledge of VOSA requirements and MOT testers manual.
  • Understanding of Operator's Licence Laws and Regulations.
  • Ability to maintain personal technical knowledge and skills, and remain up to date on best working practices.
  • Class 1 HGV Licence is an advantage.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and on own initiative.
  • Computer literate and a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
