Quarry and Asphalt Maintenance Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quarry and Asphalt Maintenance Manager to join our team at Morson Talent. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic and proactive individual to lead our maintenance team and drive continuous improvement in our quarry and asphalt operations.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage the maintenance section, taking ownership of performance and quality, and achieving maximum efficiency in the process.
  • Develop and implement a preventative maintenance scheme for fixed and mobile plant, ensuring optimal Overall Operations Effectiveness (OOE) and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
  • Supervise a team of 4 engineers, controlling health and safety requirements, and instilling an inclusive culture where people are treated with dignity and respect.
  • Monitor and report key successes and deficiencies across site, undertaking root cause analysis and calling out problems as required.
  • Control production costs, reviewing these regularly with management, and maintaining Health and Safety rules and regulations.
Requirements
  • Experience in a managerial role within a similar heavy manufacturing industry, with line management experience.
  • Knowledge of Mechanical, Pneumatic, and Hydraulic systems, as well as experience in crushing, screening, and other heavy plant equipment.
  • HNC/HND or recognised apprenticeship or BEng advantageous.
  • Ability to challenge people, hold them accountable for job completion, and quality of completion.
  • Proven computer literacy, familiarity with MS Word and Excel, and strong communication skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
