Key Responsibilities

  • Execute scheduled preventative maintenance to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Utilize systematic approaches to identify and resolve faults.
  • Conduct regular maintenance inspections and tests on both machinery and the facility.
  • Propose enhancements to improve machinery reliability and production efficiency.
  • Offer technical support and guidance regarding machine operations.
  • Assist in the maintenance of site facilities.
  • Address breakdown repairs as they arise.
  • Help establish maintenance standards.
  • Adhere to all standard operating procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Ensure effective communication with all relevant departments in a timely manner.
  • Report progress on tasks to the Production and Health & Safety Manager.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance records.
  • Manage inventory levels of machine parts and consumables.
  • Coordinate with contractors and issue necessary permits for work.
  • Support and mentor apprentices or new team members in training.

Candidate Profile

  • Possess qualifications in mechanical and electrical disciplines.
  • Familiarity with 17th Edition Wiring Regulations.
  • Willingness to engage in ongoing training and professional development.
  • Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental practices in the workplace.
  • Experience in engineering and maintenance roles.
  • Background in optics or manufacturing settings is advantageous.
  • Proficient problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively in a supportive manner.
  • Capable of performing under pressure.
  • Effective at prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive mindset.
  • Self-motivated and driven.
