Firmware Validation Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Firmware Validation Engineer to join our team at European Tech Recruit. As a key member of our Firmware Validation Engineering team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining customer-focused firmware solutions.

Your primary focus will be on designing and building automated test solutions to ensure production-quality firmware. You will work closely with established teams focused on open-source software stacks for server platforms, designing test cases and infrastructure to validate firmware against internal and customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop automated test code for firmware or system software using programming languages such as C, Python, and Bash scripting.
  • Validate firmware against internal and customer specifications, including compliance, stress, accelerated life, reliability, performance, and robustness.
  • Design and build infrastructure to support test automation, including CI pipelines.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of firmware validation processes.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in Quality Assurance and test automation for system software, preferably within the server ecosystem.
  • Strong hands-on experience in developing automated test code for firmware or system software.
  • Familiarity with system validation of platforms using UEFI and ACPI for technologies like RAS, virtualization, power management, PCI-E, and CXL.
  • Experience with both pre-silicon and post-silicon validation processes.
  • Proficiency in verification and validation of embedded software release candidates and final releases.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience validating production-quality firmware in the server segment.
  • Familiarity with static and dynamic code analysis tools.
  • Experience with Security Development Lifecycle (SDL) practices.
  • Experience mentoring and managing teams.
  • Exposure to open-source projects like the Linux Kernel, TF-A, EDK II, and OpenBMC.
