The Chace People team is seeking an experienced and dedicated Estate Domestic Couple to oversee a fully staffed, expansive estate in Gloucestershire, which is a much-loved country residence for an ultra-high-net-worth family. This role is crucial for maintaining the high standards and seamless operation of the household and estate, involving comprehensive management duties and supervision of grounds staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance and Facilities Duties:
- Develop and maintain an understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, overseeing regular checks and testing.
- Coordinate with external contractors for timely servicing and maintenance.
- Keep documentation and inventories up-to-date for all facilities and equipment.
- Supervise building and outdoor area maintenance, ensuring cleanliness and adherence to safety standards.
- Manage household staff, delegating tasks and overseeing daily operations.
- Organise and oversee logistics for large family events and gatherings, ensuring smooth execution.
- Occasionally perform driving duties as required.
- Housekeeping Duties:
- Maintain immaculate interiors, including special finishes, antiques, and fine art.
- Assist with laundry, wardrobe management, and packing/unpacking.
- Provide hospitality services during occupancy, including turn-down service and food/beverage serving.
- Support kitchen activities during events.
- Manage household budgets and oversee local staff.
- Perform occasional driving duties.
- Requirements:
- Exceptional organisational and communication skills.
- Proactivity in technology troubleshooting and regular maintenance checks.
- Demonstrated experience in managing luxury estates; must possess exceptional attention to detail, strong leadership, and multicultural team management skills.
- Fluency in English.
- Clean driving licenses, and longevity in previous positions are essential.
- Strong IT skills and impeccable record-keeping required.
- Culinary proficiency required for at least one member to assist or cover the estate Chef as needed.
Additional Information:
For this Estate Domestic Couple role, stability is of utmost importance; our client seeks a couple with a commitment to long-term engagement, to ensure continuity and familiarity for their staff and family.
The estate experiences varying levels of activity; while it can be quiet with only minimal occupancy at times, it also hosts larger family gatherings throughout the year. Regular weekend visits are made by the owners, often with additional guests.
