Position Overview

Hastings Hotels, a prestigious family-run luxury hotel group located in Northern Ireland, is dedicated to providing exceptional experiences for our guests through our dedicated team.

We are currently in search of a dependable and passionate individual to join our esteemed Kitchen team at the exclusive Grand Central Hotel.

Under the guidance of our Executive Head Chef, Damian Tumilty, you will collaborate with a supportive team, enhance your culinary skills, and experience the diverse challenges of a hospitality role. In our signature Seahorse Restaurant, you will play a vital role in crafting our exquisite eight-course tasting menu. The successful applicant can anticipate a work schedule of 45 hours per week (excluding breaks), covering five shifts out of seven, including weekends. Typical shifts are from 11am to 7pm and 12pm to 10pm.

The annual salary for this full-time role is £29,000.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Assist in overseeing kitchen operations to uphold Hastings standards of food preparation and presentation.
  2. Support the effective management of kitchen staff to ensure smooth operational flow.
  3. Foster a respectful and collaborative working environment for all team members.
  4. Ensure adherence to quality standards and procedures through daily checks.
  5. Implement and monitor stock control and ordering policies.
  6. Provide training and mentorship to junior kitchen staff to ensure service excellence.
  7. Maintain effective communication with other hotel departments and suppliers to ensure operational efficiency and guest satisfaction.
  8. Safeguard the security of kitchen and storage areas.
  9. Ensure kitchen areas, equipment, and fixtures are well-maintained.
  10. Uphold a safe working environment in compliance with health, safety, hygiene, and security regulations.
  11. Perform any additional duties as required.
