Overview: This role is a pivotal step in your professional journey. As a Cyber Security Specialist, you will report directly to the IT Risk & Security Lead, playing a crucial role in the analysis of information security within a financial services environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with a variety of stakeholders, including third-party vendors and partner organizations, to address cyber security challenges and provide insightful reporting and recommendations.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of an information security risk register, while supporting both internal and external audits related to information security.
  • Contribute to the formulation of new policies or procedures aimed at mitigating the risks associated with potential cyber threats.
  • Help establish or enhance business-as-usual processes to integrate Information Security into the organizational framework.
  • Monitor and respond to potential threats such as phishing attempts and pharming activities.
  • Support disaster recovery planning and the creation of contingency strategies for security incidents.
  • Facilitate the creation, upkeep, and delivery of information security awareness training for staff members.
  • Provide guidance to colleagues on issues related to spam, malicious emails, and overall security awareness.
  • Stay informed about emerging cyber security threats and effective management strategies.
  • Keep abreast of new tools and technologies that can enhance cyber resilience and overall information security.
  • Assist with audits and other sensitive data collection requests.

Technical Skills Required:

  • Extensive experience in information security and risk management.
  • Familiarity with key industry frameworks such as NIST, ISO, and Cyber Essentials.
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate and manipulate large datasets for actionable insights.
  • Proficient understanding of Azure/Entra and M365 technologies.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to present risk information and key performance indicators effectively.
  • Demonstrated business acumen, patience, and strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent investigative skills and the ability to articulate solutions within a business context.
  • Proven ability to build collaborative relationships to represent Information Security effectively.
  • Experience managing diverse internal and external stakeholder relationships.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Relevant professional certifications, particularly in Microsoft Azure/Entra/M365 technologies.
  • Understanding of Data Protection responsibilities and practices.
  • Knowledge of key regulatory frameworks, including GDPR.
  • Experience in facilitating discussions and workshops.
  • Background in working with multiple IT managed service providers.
  • Familiarity with business processes, particularly within the financial services sector.
