Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Optometrist to join our multi-disciplinary team at University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust. As an Optometrist, you will play a vital role in providing advanced eye care services to patients, working closely with other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced Optometric services, including slit lamp bio microscopy and volk lens examination, to patients with complex eye conditions.
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and efficient service delivery.
  • Contribute to the planning and development of the Optometry service, ensuring it meets the changing needs of the department.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams, providing clear and concise information about patient conditions and treatment options.
  • Assist with day-to-day running of the department, including administrative duties, to ensure smooth service delivery.

Requirements

  • Post-graduate level Optometry qualification and registration with the relevant professional body.
  • Experience in providing advanced Optometric services, including slit lamp bio microscopy and volk lens examination.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage workload, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
