We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team as a Specialty Doctor in Dermatology. As a key member of our team, you will complement our group of friendly and welcoming clinicians, working together to deliver exceptional patient care.
About the Department
The Dermatology department is part of the Surgical Services Directorate, providing treatment and healthcare services to a population of approximately 388,000. Our department is based in University Hospital Crosshouse, with some clinics held at University Hospital Ayr. As a member of our team, you will be expected to work across both sites when required.
About the Unit
Our unit offers a range of services, including busy Day Treatment Units at Crosshouse and Ayr, providing dressings, TL01, and PUVA. We also have minor surgery facilities available in the Dermatology Centre and clinic areas. Our team includes specialist dermatology nurses who operate review clinics for patients with eczema, psoriasis, and those on isotretinoin and biologic therapy. We have seven nurse biopsy specialists.
About the Team
We are supported by four permanent Consultant Dermatologists and one bank Consultant Dermatologist, as well as a team of experienced healthcare professionals, including a Senior Charge Nurse, a Skin Cancer Nurse Specialist, and a team of Dermatology Nurses. Our team is committed to delivering high-quality patient care and is dedicated to providing a supportive and inclusive work environment.
About the Contract
The Terms and Conditions of service are those determined by the Specialty Doctor Contract. We offer an 8 plus 2 programmed activity basis, and applications from individuals who may wish to work less programmed activities or job share basis will be considered. Opportunities may exist for Extra Programmed Activities subject to service requirements.
About the Post
The post is intended as full-time (10PAs, 8 DCC, 2 SPA), and any candidate who, for personal reasons, is unable to work whole-time is eligible to be considered for the post on a less than full-time contract.
