Job Title: Senior Legal Counsel - Investment Management

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join our Investment Management team at Legal & General. As a Senior Legal Counsel, you will play a critical role in providing legal support to our business, including drafting, negotiating, and amending financial services agreements related to the UK Super Manco, UK authorised funds, and unit-linked funds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drafting and Negotiating Agreements: Draft, negotiate, and amend financial services agreements related to the UK Super Manco, UK authorised funds, and unit-linked funds.
  • Providing Legal Support: Provide legal support to the business, including supporting and advising on the structure and launch of new funds.
  • Investment Management Agreements: Draft and review investment management agreements.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Advise on legal and regulatory requirements and developments, including AIFMD and ESG rules.
  • Risk Assessment: Assess and advise teams on legal risk and recommend appropriate strategies to mitigate those risks.
  • Monitoring Developments: Monitor events and developments that could have legal implications for the UK business.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Qualified Solicitor with a current Practising Certificate.
  • Experience: Excellent technical knowledge of funds; private fund experience would be advantageous.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of UK UCITS and Alternative Investment Funds and their regulation.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Stakeholder Management: Ability to deal with senior stakeholders across the business.
