Job Opportunity: Financial Monitoring Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake detailed reviews of financial data and modelling output for individual providers, focusing on those with greater financial sustainability risk.
  • Engage with senior management at individual providers, particularly financial directors and accountable officers, to discuss financial risk management and contingency planning.
  • Ensure the regulator has a comprehensive understanding of providers' finances, contingency plans, and capacity to adapt to financial risks.
  • Provide expert advice, supported by evidence, on the financial management of providers in the context of financial risks.
  • Make formal recommendations where financial management requires improvement, including creating new specific conditions of registration if necessary.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Accountant and financial management expertise (essential)
  • Auditing and financial interrogation skills
  • Senior Management experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Relationship management skills
  • Good understanding of the Higher Education sector and its finances (desirable)
  • Corporate Governance and Regulation experience
