Our client, a prominent contractor in the water industry, is in search of a Water Supply Planned Outage Coordinator to manage and supervise the safe and effective execution of scheduled site outages. This position is crucial for ensuring that installation and commissioning tasks are performed with minimal interruption while upholding the highest standards of safety and compliance.

You will be tasked with overseeing and coordinating all facets of planned outages at a significant water supply facility, ensuring that all operations are conducted safely and in line with applicable regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety Oversight: Formulate and execute safety strategies for planned outages, perform risk evaluations, and manage the Permit to Work (PTW) system to guarantee that all high-risk operations are properly authorized and documented.
  • Operational Management: Direct and manage site activities during planned outages, ensuring that tasks are sequenced and scheduled to minimize risks and disruptions.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all planned outage activities adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations, conducting regular inspections and audits to rectify any compliance issues.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary liaison among various stakeholders, ensuring clear communication of safety protocols and operational plans. Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings to ensure all personnel are informed of the risks and safety measures.
  • Personnel Competency: Assess the competency of staff involved in planned outages, ensuring that only qualified individuals undertake specific tasks, especially those involving high-risk activities.
  • Environmental Stewardship: Ensure that planned outage operations are executed with minimal environmental impact, particularly in sensitive areas such as water sources and treatment facilities.

Qualifications:

  • Significant experience in the water sector, preferably with expertise in planned outage management.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large teams in a multi-supplier context.
  • Strong grasp of construction contract law and contract forms, with relevant experience and formal training.
  • Familiarity with water quality standards and procedures.
