The Role: We are looking for a dedicated and empathetic Teaching Assistant to join our specialized team. In this full-time position, you will collaborate closely with students who have intricate needs, particularly those with Autism and PMLD. Your responsibilities will include assisting in the implementation of customized educational programs, utilizing alternative communication strategies such as PECS cards, and engaging students through activity-focused lessons tailored to their unique learning requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalized support to students with SEN, facilitating their access to the curriculum and participation in educational activities.
  • Assist in the design and execution of activity-oriented lessons that are rich in sensory experiences and tailored to each student's needs.
  • Support the development and execution of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and other personalized learning approaches.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive educational environment.
  • Assist students with personal care needs, when necessary, in a respectful and supportive manner.
  • Monitor and document student progress, maintaining accurate records and providing feedback to staff and parents.
  • Encourage a positive, supportive atmosphere where students feel valued and empowered to learn.

About You:

  • Experience working with students with Special Educational Needs is preferred.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with complex needs and a commitment to helping them reach their potential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting and supportive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and a flexible approach to working with students who have diverse and complex needs.
