Flannery Plant Hire is a leading provider of plant hire services in the UK, offering a wide range of operated and self-drive equipment to various industries.

We are currently seeking a skilled Workshop Fitter to join our team at our Manchester depot.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out maintenance and repair tasks on our mobile and fixed plant equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition and meet the required safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance and repair of mobile and fixed plant equipment, including hydraulic excavators, dumpers, telehandlers, and dozers.
  • Cutting and welding as required by the workshop supervisor.
  • Keeping accurate records of works carried out, parts used, and pre-delivery inspections.
  • Liaising with outside contract fitting staff and complying with safety, health, and welfare regulations.
  • Carrying out mechanical repairs and maintenance duties assigned by the workshop supervisor or service manager.

Requirements:

  • 2 years of post-qualification experience working as a mobile plant fitter.
  • Experience and competency in fault-finding, maintenance, and repair of heavy-duty construction plant.
  • Knowledge and awareness of health, safety, and welfare practices and legislation.
  • Ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and possess own tools.
