The island of Gigha offers a unique and serene environment, with breathtaking landscapes and a rich cultural heritage. As a community nurse, you will have the opportunity to work in a close-knit community, providing comprehensive healthcare services to the island's residents.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for relieving the caseload holder, providing 24-hour coverage for the nursing needs of the community. Your expertise will be essential in assessing and managing patient care, working closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless coordination.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing emergency response services, working collaboratively with other agencies to ensure effective incident management
  • Conducting drop-in clinics at the surgery, including chronic disease management and recall
  • Developing and implementing individualized care plans, working closely with patients and their families
  • Collaborating with the Kintyre Medical Group to provide comprehensive healthcare services to the practice population

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • Excellent clinical assessment and decision-making skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
  • Experience working from Patient Group Directions (PGDs) and a prescribing qualification (desirable)

This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience in remote and rural nursing, working in a close-knit community with a strong sense of camaraderie. If you are passionate about delivering exceptional patient care and are committed to excellence, we encourage you to apply.
