Core Responsibilities in Practice Development
As a senior practitioner, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing practice standards by providing mentoring, coaching, and expert guidance to your colleagues. Your leadership will inspire and empower others in their professional journeys while working closely with families.
About Walsall Council's Initiative
Walsall is dedicated to the Families First Programme, which is rooted in the National Children's Social Care Review and the Stable Homes Built on Love framework. We are establishing a collaborative, multi-agency Family Help Service that builds upon the strengths of the Family Safeguarding model.
Our Commitment to You
We prioritize creating an environment conducive to your success, ensuring manageable workloads with an average of 12 children per practitioner. You will receive robust support from management, streamlined paperwork, and access to innovative technologies. All social workers will undergo training in Systemic Family Practice.
Wellbeing is integral to our approach. We provide specialized clinical supervision, a 9-day fortnight to promote work/life balance, flexible working arrangements, and access to employee assistance and therapeutic support when needed. Our goal is to make social work a fulfilling career that professionals choose to remain in.
Professional Development Opportunities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to identify your areas of specialization and interest, with access to training that enhances your expertise. This commitment to your growth includes pathways to advance into roles such as Consultant Social Worker, Lead Child Protection Practitioner, or Team Manager.
Our Values
We are dedicated to promoting anti-discrimination and equality, striving to build a workforce that mirrors the diverse communities we serve.
Salary and Retention Benefits
Competitive salary scale with retention payments available after two years, increasing at four and six years.
