About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Class 1 HGV driver to operate a lorry with a HIAB/ALLMI qualified crane. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of tachograph operation and drivers' hours legislation, as well as excellent communication skills to ensure seamless interactions with the hire desk, colleagues, and customers.

The successful candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently loading and unloading materials, adhering to health and safety standards, and maintaining a high level of professionalism throughout their duties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate a Class 1 HGV with a HIAB/ALLMI qualified crane to load and unload materials safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with tachograph operation and drivers' hours legislation, including digital tachographs.
  • Communicate effectively with the hire desk, colleagues, and customers to ensure seamless interactions.
  • Adhere to health and safety standards and maintain a high level of professionalism throughout duties.
  • Perform daily maintenance and defect checks on the vehicle and report any defects promptly to the Manager.
  • Carry out risk visual assessments prior to loading and unloading activity and provide safe installation of pumping equipment.
  • Participate in on-call rota and be available for ad-hoc call-outs as required.

Essential Qualifications

  • Full UK HGV Category C+E Licence (Class 1 License).
  • ALLMI and Tacho cards are required for this role.
  • Over 21 years of age (for insurance purposes).
  • HIAB/ALLMI qualification.
  • CPC/DQC (Desirable but not essential).
  • Counter-balance Forklift Licence (Desirable but not essential).

Compliant with DVLA statutory medical standards and able to climb up onto lorry bed and secure loading and strapping down of load.
