The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Matron, Delivery Suite Coordinators, and Medical Professionals to foster a culture of safety and excellence in care for women, birthing individuals, and their families. A strong dedication to intrapartum midwifery practice, safety, and exceptional organizational and communication abilities are essential for this role. Qualifications
Essential:
- Current NMC registration
- Practicing Midwife
- Maintaining a professional portfolio and PREPP requirements
- Completion of ALSO/PROMPT course or equivalent experience
- Trained in mentorship/preceptorship

- Education at the Master's level or evidence of progress towards it

- Extensive midwifery experience, particularly in high-risk intrapartum care
- Recent leadership experience within a team
- Awareness of midwifery issues within the broader NHS context
- Knowledge of statutory supervision
- Up-to-date midwifery skills, including perineal suturing, cannulation, and intravenous medication administration
- Ability to prioritize and manage workload effectively
- Leadership and team-building capabilities

- Understanding of clinical governance and its implications for care

- Resource management proficiency
- Staff management skills, including performance appraisals

- NIPE (Newborn Examination) training and competence
