We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher of Religious Studies to join our dynamic team at a vibrant Secondary School & Sixth Form in Hackney. As a Teacher of Religious Studies, you will play a crucial role in delivering engaging and thought-provoking lessons, fostering a love for learning, and helping students develop a deep understanding of various religious traditions and their impact on the world.


Key Responsibilities:

• Teach Religious Studies across Key Stages 3 and 4

• Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality Religious Studies lessons in line with the national curriculum

• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages active participation and critical thinking

• Assess and monitor students' progress, providing constructive feedback and support to help them achieve their full potential

• Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective teaching strategies and resources

• Participate in school events, parent evenings, and professional development opportunities


Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in Religious Studies or a related field

• Proven experience teaching Religious Studies at the secondary level

• Strong subject knowledge and a passion for educating young people about diverse religious beliefs and practices

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students

• A commitment to maintaining high standards of teaching and learning

Candidates must have QTS – without QTS, they will not be considered.


Candidates must have a Degree or PGCE in Religious Studies
