Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled MEICA Engineer to join our team at Scantec Recruitment. As a MEICA Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems for wastewater and infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Design Development: Develop mechanical designs, including P&ID creation, HAZOP studies, hazard assessments in construction, and design risk assessments.
- Design Drawings: Create and refine mechanical and civil design drawings to meet project requirements.
- Wastewater M&E Assets: Lead the design of wastewater M&E assets such as pumping stations, CSOs, and related civil structures.
- Equipment Selection: Select and size equipment (e.g., pumps, mixers, pipework) to meet project specifications.
- Tender and Subcontract Documentation: Provide technical input for tender and subcontract documentation.
- Subcontractor Management: Conduct pre-start subcontractor meetings, outline project expectations, and manage ongoing communication.
- Project Progress: Assess project forecasts and track progress to completion.
- On-Site Activities: Manage on-site activities, including mechanical isolation, approval of mechanical RAMS, and sign-off on mechanical testing and inspections.
- Quality Control: Develop and review Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) to ensure quality control.
- Cost Management: Collaborate with the contract delivery teams on cost-to-complete and budget reviews.
- Supplier Negotiation: Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best terms for the project.
- Project Programmes: Prepare and manage detailed project programmes and ensure alignment with subcontractor schedules.
Requirements
- Qualifications: HNC or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience: Proven experience in mechanical design, particularly within wastewater or infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge: Strong knowledge of P&ID development, equipment sizing, and selection for M&E assets. Experience with TMA, NRSWA coordination is advantageous.
- Skills: Experience in managing subcontractors, coordinating site activities, and ensuring projects remain on schedule and within budget.
- Qualities: Familiarity with HAZOP, RAMS approval, and quality control processes, including inspection and test plans.
