Job Description

Job Title: Advocacy Solicitor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Advocacy Solicitor to join our team. As an Advocacy Solicitor, you will be responsible for conducting advocacy at court on behalf of the council, demonstrating expert knowledge and understanding of the law and procedures relating to Local Authority prosecutions and general Civil Litigation and debt recovery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct advocacy at court on behalf of the council
  • Demonstrate expert knowledge and understanding of the law and procedures relating to Local Authority prosecutions and general Civil Litigation and debt recovery
  • Provide legal advice and guidance to the council and its officers
  • Represent the council in court proceedings
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including other legal professionals and council officers

Requirements:

  • Admitted as a solicitor, barrister or legal executive or hold an equivalent qualification from another jurisdiction with the relevant conversion to the UK
  • Expert knowledge and understanding of the law and procedures relating to Local Authority prosecutions and general Civil Litigation and debt recovery
  • Ability to conduct advocacy at court on behalf of the council
  • Command of spoken English sufficient to enable you to effectively perform the role
  • Subject to Ealing's enhanced vetting process and may be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
