About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Project Manager to join our team at Lockheed Martin. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading engineering projects from conception to delivery, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accountable for overall engineering technical, cost, and schedule performance on specific programs.
  • Provide primary technical interface with Programme Management (PM) Office and Customer for all programmatic items.
  • Ensure that the Programme/Project has the Engineering Capabilities established and maintained to deliver the Programme/Project Technical Solutions within the Programme/Project schedule and cost envelope.
  • Produce and maintain artefacts that describe the Engineering Processes, Tools, and Practices employed to realise the Programme/Project Technical Solutions.
  • Work closely with other Project Managers, Service Managers, Team Leads, and other Resourcing Leaders to ensure that the required Engineering Resources for the Programme/Project are in place.
  • Report metrics that indicate completeness of the Engineering activities.
  • Support Engineering Team Leads in providing day-to-day employee management, performance assessment, work assignments, approvals, and recognition/disciplinary actions.
  • Lead or coordinate subcontract management.
Requirements
  • Experience in a technical delivery environment with demonstrable success of team leadership and project performance management.
  • Good understanding of Engineering tools, processes, requirements definition, interface documentation, Test and Qualification procedures, and practices required to support the development, acceptance, and sell-off of solutions.
  • Experience of Control Account Management, development of Basis of Estimates using metrics, including management of risk.
  • Experience of leading and day-to-day managing of people.
  • Strong communication skills, and the ability to write in a clear and concise manner.
  • The ability to manage tasks and priorities to ensure that assigned workload is delivered when required.
  • Ability to communicate with a wide range of audiences on sometimes complex topics.
