Position Overview
Loughborough University, in collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Centre for Transportation and Logistics (MIT-CTL), has initiated the establishment of the UK Supply Chain and Logistics Excellence Centre (UK SCALE Centre). This Centre is poised to be a vital component of the MIT Global SCALE Network.
The UK SCALE Centre is dedicated to advancing research, educational initiatives, and partnerships with industry, aspiring to be the primary hub for supply chain innovation and talent cultivation in the UK. By engaging closely with key industry stakeholders, the Centre aims to bridge the divide between academic research and practical industry applications. Our goal is to develop pioneering solutions to the significant challenges confronting the UK's logistics and supply chain sectors. Additionally, the Centre is committed to equipping the next generation of scholars and professionals with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in the evolving landscape of supply chains.
Role Responsibilities
In the capacity of Professor and Academic Director of the UK SCALE Centre, you will provide visionary academic leadership in the enhancement and development of a high-caliber program portfolio. This includes delivering a range of programs that are consistently appealing and relevant within the higher education sector, aligning with the strategic vision of the UK SCALE Centre.
The successful candidate will hold the title of Professor while also undertaking the significant role of Academic Director. You will collaborate with the Centre Director to drive the growth and evolution of the UK SCALE Centre, establishing it as a center of excellence for education, research, and innovation in supply chain and operations management across the United Kingdom.
Your leadership will be instrumental in shaping and communicating the strategic vision for the academic domain of the UK SCALE Centre. You will also lead and engage in both internal and external networks to foster collaboration and promote the Centre, the School, and the University on a national and international scale.
We are looking for candidates with a robust background in research, teaching, and enterprise. Ideal applicants will possess experience in supply chain management, transportation, logistics, operations management, or a closely related field.
This position offers a full-time, open-ended contract, with options for hybrid working arrangements that combine office and remote work.
Successful candidates will become integral members of the school's discipline group.
