About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Security Officer to join our team at Securitas Security Services in Preston. As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of security standards to the required levels, going above and beyond to be a positive brand ambassador for our company.

Your role will involve:

  • Preventing and deterring unauthorized access to site
  • Monitoring fire alarms, intruder alarms, and CCTV
  • Maintaining all logbooks and records, ensuring all paperwork is completed in a timely fashion and conducting effective handover procedures
  • Securing the property, protecting company assets, visiting customers, and employees of our clients
  • Remaining alert and vigilant to detect and deter any suspicious or threatening activity and retaining full control until the authorities arrive
  • Ensuring health and safety procedures are always followed, recording and reporting all faults, health, and safety hazards
  • Operating radios and other physical security equipment used on site
  • Carrying out initial investigations and reporting both verbally and in writing on incidents, suspicious activities, objects, and vehicles
  • Providing exceptional customer service to clients, visitors, and staff
Essential Skills

Requirements:

  • Valid SIA Licence
  • 5-year checkable work history or be able to produce documentary evidence of any period of unemployment
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong customer focus
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team
  • No current criminal convictions
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Must have held a British Passport for at least 5 years
