Lead Respiratory Physiologist

Position Overview:
An exciting opportunity has emerged for a qualified Clinical Physiologist to take on the role of Highly Specialized Clinical Physiologist Band 7 within the Respiratory Lab services at NHS Forth Valley. This position is integral to the Clinical Respiratory Physiology team, which provides a comprehensive array of Respiratory Physiology services utilized by both Primary and Secondary care sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be tasked with:
- Organizing and managing clinics in collaboration with outpatient and inpatient referral services.
- Generating reports on clinic throughput, waiting times, and identifying potential areas for enhancement to be discussed in multi-disciplinary team meetings.
- Contributing to the development of the Pulmonary Function and Sleep Physiology Service, aiming for high-quality service delivery.
- Engaging in policy and procedure reviews to advance Respiratory Physiology services.
- Delivering clinical investigations while leading and motivating the existing team with a focus on performance and service enhancement.
- Training and mentoring other Clinical Physiologists and supporting the education of medical and nursing students.
Collaboration and Development:
The post holder will actively participate in the Forth Valley Healthcare Science Forum and local HCS initiatives, contributing to the broader healthcare community.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate should possess:
- A BSc in Clinical Physiology (Respiratory) or an equivalent qualification, with evidence of master's level study preferred.
- Extensive experience in specialized areas of Clinical Physiology.
Professional Development:
Clinical Physiologists are encouraged to engage in Continuous Professional Development (CPD), audit, and research activities. Registration with the Academy of Healthcare Science (AHCS) is a prerequisite for this role.
