About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Legal to join our team at The Very Group. As a key member of our Group Legal Team, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our business meets all statutory and regulatory requirements.

Reporting to the Group Legal Director, you will be responsible for providing expert advice on corporate governance, commercial law, and regulatory matters. You will work closely with senior leaders across the business to build relationships and deliver large-scale projects.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing guidance on corporate governance and regulatory matters
  • Leading on contract negotiations and documentation
  • Advising on commercial law and risk management
  • Supporting the Group Governance team with day-to-day responsibilities
  • Interpreting statutory, regulatory, and court-driven requirements

We are looking for a qualified Solicitor with experience in commercial and corporate governance or corporate legal work. You will have strong influencing and leadership skills, with the ability to drive and support internal committees and governance teams.

Key skills and qualifications include:

  • 6+ years' PQE experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to present complex problems and solutions
  • Complex contract review and negotiation experience
