About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Research and Development Technician to join our team at McCormick & Company, Inc.
Main Responsibilities
- Optimize the operational efficiency of our pilot plant facility, including procedures, scheduling, raw materials management, and analytical testing requirements.
- Manage the maintenance and upkeep of pilot plant equipment, ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure the health, safety, and hygiene standards of the pilot plant and laboratory are met, adhering to company policies and legal requirements.
- Maintain the GMP standards of our R&D warehouse facility and analytical laboratory.
- Coordinate the activities of the development team and pilot plant operations to support the delivery of business objectives.
- Investigate and implement new technologies, raw materials, and processes to enhance product development and quality.
- Collaborate with suppliers and industry experts to stay up-to-date on the latest ingredients and technologies.
- Provide expertise and support to the Centre of Excellence (Wet) as required.
Candidate Profile
- Experience in the food industry, preferably in an Operations, Quality, or Technical role.
- Hold a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Food Science or Food Technology, or equivalent.
- Proven experience in sauce production.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Strong understanding of Quality, Food Safety, Regulatory, and Customer requirements.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and as part of a team.
