Role Summary:
The successful candidate will enhance our support capabilities by servicing the PrintSafe range of coding and marking equipment at various B2B customer locations across the UK and Ireland. Our technology plays a crucial role in everyday products, from food packaging to pharmaceuticals, ensuring accurate data printing and barcoding.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Field Service Technician, you will:
- Provide service for PrintSafe-supplied printers, feeders, and accessories at customer locations.
- Conduct on-site and remote troubleshooting and repairs of PrintSafe equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance to ensure maximum customer uptime, considering production schedules and equipment specifications.
- Offer technical support via phone as required.
- Document service records and adhere to PrintSafe servicing protocols and manuals.
- Train customers on the correct operation of systems, following Health and Safety guidelines.
- Maintain communication with site personnel, from senior management to operational staff.
- Collaborate with peers and service line managers to share insights and improve service delivery.
- Work closely with field and internal sales teams to enhance customer satisfaction.
Essential Skills:
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:
- Electronics Expertise: High-level skills in electronics.
- Mechanical Proficiency: Solid mechanical knowledge, ideally with formal qualifications.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Adaptability: Willingness to travel within the UK for work, including overnight stays.
- Self-Motivation: Ability to work independently without daily supervision.
- Time Management: Skills to manage multiple tasks and projects effectively.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with Windows, Email, Internet, Word, and Excel.
Qualifications:
A minimum of BTEC/ONC or equivalent formal electronics training is required. Candidates must hold a valid driving license and have the right to work in the UK.
