Westlakes Recruit is seeking an experienced project manager to join our team on a contract basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering key projects in the nuclear sector, working closely with stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define, plan, track, and manage projects to deliver cost, schedule, and quality requirements.
  • Support tender submissions from a project management perspective.
  • Prepare schedules and monitor progress against established baselines.
  • Track and monitor project spending, reporting variances using Earned Value Management (EVM) techniques.
  • Establish and maintain weekly reporting, setting up regular internal and external team meetings.
  • Prepare meeting packs/presentations, capturing minutes, agreed actions, and updating teams and senior management.
  • Positively influence key stakeholders associated with the project.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation templates.
  • Ensure all project deliverables are completed in line with the schedule.
  • Identify potential dependencies, assumptions, risks, exceptions, opportunities (DAREO), project problems, mitigation contingencies, and implement corrective actions.
  • Highlight where updates or escalations are required.
Requirements
  • Degree (or working to) in Project Management (desirable)
  • APM Project Management Qualification (desirable)
  • Knowledge of NEC3 contracts (desirable)
  • Proven experience of delivering projects to time, cost, and quality
  • Successful experience of translating analysis into practical implementation
  • Proficient with the full Microsoft Office suite
  • Schedule baseline creation and management
  • Detail-oriented, high standard of accuracy & quality
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A strong team-player
  • A drive to succeed
