About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an apprentice to complete their Level 3 Childcare qualification with Steeple Aston Preschool.
About Steeple Aston Preschool:
Situated in a quiet rural village, our purpose-built Victorian school has been modernised and extended for the exclusive use of pre-school children.
Our Core Principles:
- Staff work hard to ensure a safe and supportive environment
- Children are stimulated and interested in a wide range of activities
- Children are encouraged to solve problems through experimentation and trial and error
- Children learn that there is more than one way to achieve a goal, and the process is as important as the result
- Outstanding procedures for managing times of transition, such as settling children into the pre-school
Your Responsibilities:
- Support with supervising children and helping with personal care, including hand washing and toileting
- Help with planning activities and supporting key members of the team, observing and getting to know the children and their families
- Support with learning through play, focusing on children's interests and flexible learning approaches
- Learn about the role and develop into a key person, with elements of reporting and observations, and building relationships with parents
Requirements:
- Level 2 Childcare Qualification
- Clear DBS
- Understanding of safeguarding and keeping children safe
- GCSEs A*-C/4+ in English Language and Maths, or equivalent
Working Hours:
- Steeple Aston Preschool is open between 08:15-15:30
- Working hours will be a minimum of 30 hours per week
- Chesterton Playgroup is a term-time only setting
