Head of Audit Opportunity

At MERJE Ltd, we are seeking an experienced Head of Audit to lead our internal audit function and ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices.

About the Role

We are looking for a seasoned audit professional to oversee the development and implementation of robust audit policies and procedures. The successful candidate will lead and manage the internal audit team, providing strategic guidance to other departments on audit-related issues.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and implement effective audit policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
  2. Lead and manage the internal audit team, providing guidance and support to ensure successful delivery of audit projects.
  3. Provide strategic guidance to other departments on audit-related issues, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  4. Effectively communicate audit findings and recommendations to senior management, ensuring timely mitigation of identified risks.
  5. Identify and assess potential audit risks, ensuring proactive mitigation and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  1. Professional qualification in auditing or accounting (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
  2. Significant experience in audit management, ideally within the banking sector.
  3. Strong understanding of audit standards, regulations, and financial services compliance.
  4. Proven leadership experience, with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
