Overview:

Simpson Judge Ltd, a leading law firm, is seeking a highly experienced Residential Property Solicitor to take on a newly created position as Technical Lead within the Conveyancing department.

This is an ideal opportunity for a seasoned Property Solicitor looking to transition into a leadership role, overseeing a team and driving technical excellence in Residential Conveyancing.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in Residential Property law, with a minimum of 7 years' post-qualification experience. They will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all regulations, providing technical training, and developing and implementing policies.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Group Compliance Director to ensure advice provided is compliant with all regulations.
  • Oversee a team of solicitors, including trainees, and provide guidance and support as needed.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to drive technical excellence in Residential Conveyancing.
  • Work closely with the IT team to improve the development of the case management system.
  • Ensure the team is complying with law, regulation, protocols, and best practice in the conveyancing process.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 7 years' post-qualification experience as a Residential Property Solicitor.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Residential Conveyancing, including sales, purchases, remortgages, leasehold, lease extensions, SDLT requirements, building regulations, and bridging transactions.
  • Experience managing a complex caseload and mentoring junior solicitors.
  • Equity release experience is highly beneficial.
  • Business development skills are desirable, but not essential.
