Job Details

We are seeking a highly skilled Childcare Manager to oversee a cluster of out-of-school clubs for children with complex additional support needs. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of their cluster, including direct management of a team of Childcare Practitioners and Senior Childcare Practitioners.

The Role

The Childcare Manager will be responsible for:

  • Managing a team of Childcare Practitioners and Senior Childcare Practitioners to deliver high-quality care and education to children with complex additional support needs.
  • Developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of children and staff.
  • Collaborating with other services and agencies to ensure the needs of children and families are met.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of services and making recommendations for improvement.

The Person

We are looking for a candidate who:

  • Hold a relevant professional qualification recognized by the SSSC (Scottish Social Services Council) for the purpose of professional registration at SCQF Level 7 or above.
  • Are eligible to register with the SSSC in the category of Manager of a Day Care of Children Service and hold or be willing to work towards an SCQF Level 9 qualification.
  • Have experience of working with children and young people between the ages of 4 to 19 years, including the planning, preparation, and delivery of activities tailored to individual needs.
  • Have knowledge of key local and national guidance, best practice, and legislation.
  • Have experience of managing or supervising people.
  • Have IT skills.
