Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Facilities Support Specialist to join our team at General Dynamics UK. As a key member of our Facilities and Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) Teams, you will play a critical role in maintaining the operational excellence and maintenance of our sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide practical and physical support to maintain the fabric and compliance of our sites, ensuring the successful delivery of various facilities and cross-functional project works.
  • Manage the successful delivery of services carried out by third-party facilities contractors.
  • Maintain robust records management and department administration.
  • Assist in the provision of facilities services and building issues via the service desk process.
  • Support the Facilities Team in electrical, plumbing, and mechanical maintenance and services works, project works, program initiatives, and business improvement works.
  • Provide porterage and facilities support to onsite events and visits.
  • Contribute to ground maintenance and seasonal site upkeep, including winter gritting, snow clearance, sign cleaning, and waste management.
  • Support the monthly in-house PPM schedule.

Requirements

  • Experience of building facilities management and maintenance schemes.
  • Hold a valid driving license, ideally with no points or penalties.
  • Effective communicator, able to adapt style and build strong working relationships internally at various levels as well as externally, contractors, and external agencies.
  • Influencing and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Demonstrable experience of problem-solving and multitasking.
  • Significant knowledge and working capability with MS packages.
  • Experience of working in a manufacturing/engineering environment beneficial.
  • Trade experience beneficial but not essential.
  • Demonstrable of H&S in the workplace. Working Safely or equivalent beneficial but not essential.
